About Nuclear Marketing Group


Nuclear Marketing Group, LLC was founded in 1994 by Warren Carah, with the goal of offering vendors a professional marketing presence in a period of downsizing, retrenchment, cost focus, and significant personnel shifts. Warren's son, Trevor joined the firm in 2011, becoming company president in 2017 before Warren retired in 2022.

In this era of nuclear fleet life extension and new technology exploration, suppliers must supplement their existing product and engineering portfolios with enhanced customer services, increased value, and personal contact to truly grow and thrive. Nuclear Marketing Group (NMG) provides this crucial link: a direct sales presence that meets with the component, systems, design engineers, and procurement specialists who specify the products and services purchased at the sites.

While effective salesmanship relies on universal principles, success in a highly specialized and technical field like nuclear energy requires intimate knowledge of the players and the rule book.

Our methodology is straightforward: We visit customer sites regularly to identify specific needs and determine if the products and services offered by our principals can provide a solution. While we leverage multiple information sources—including networking, user-group meetings, and reviewing NRC Event Reports—our process consistently relies on one-on-one customer meetings to uncover solid, actionable opportunities for our clients.

We don't offer our principals a commanding technical presence; we believe that's best handled by your engineers. Our value is getting the customer’s engineers to talk directly to your engineers about their needs and potential solutions. Our thorough understanding of nuclear Q.A., environmental qualification, system design, and procurement procedures helps us filter out wasteful inquiries to ensure only serious opportunities reach your technical team.

Nuclear Marketing Group operates on a simple premise: If we don’t sell anything, we don’t earn anything. All of our contractual relationships are based purely on sales performance.

A key virtue in this business is patience. For principals with a limited industry presence, it can take several years to develop sales, especially for a previously unproven product. We mitigate this by working with our principals to develop a total marketing effort. This includes regularly producing flyers and e-mail communications to maintain contact with key plant personnel.

We also firmly believe it is crucial for our clients to work with us in the field to personally hear customer remarks and bring suggestions back to the factory. To ensure good communication and follow-through, we document all customer visits with a detailed call report that includes specific action items.
